PLACED ACADEMY FOUNDATIONS: FEBRUARY HALF TERM
PLACED Academy Foundations are two-day programmes that introduce the built environment and offer participants a taster of PLACED Academy Studio. Packed with creative activities, they introduce participants to careers in the sector, while helping them to develop their skills and build confidence.
Over the February half-term, we worked with 94 young people across Liverpool and Manchester.
Using St George’s Gateway in Liverpool and Deansgate in Manchester as real-life examples, participants explored how public spaces are planned, designed and realised, helping to inform their ideas and discussions.
Both areas offer unique opportunities for revitalisation and development, with rich heritage and real potential for future growth. They provided strong examples of how spaces can be designed not only to be functional, but also to reflect the essence of their cities, creating exciting places for people to gather, enjoy and experience.
The young people came up with some fantastic ideas and designs and presented them brilliantly.
